Edward M. Nogay Associate

Eddie is a member of the firm’s nationally recognized Government Investigations and White Collar Litigation team. His practice includes representing leading financial institutions in government investigations and enforcement actions by various federal agencies. Eddie also focuses on representing corporate and individual clients in connection with internal investigations and grand jury subpoenas.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Eddie served as law clerk to U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr. in the Northern District of West Virginia.

Eddie graduated Order of the Coif from the West Virginia University College of Law where he earned awards for the top grade in several courses and received the Patrick Duffy Koontz award for leadership, citizenship, and academic excellence.

As an undergraduate at Washington & Jefferson College, Eddie was a college baseball All-American.

Experience

Defend major financial institutions and other companies in enforcement actions by the DOJ and SEC

Represent financial institutions in responding to inquiries from federal banking regulators

Conduct internal investigations arising out of whistleblower complaints

Advise companies and individuals in responding to federal grand jury subpoenas

Represent financial institutions in responding to third party subpoenas

Update companies’ policies, procedures, and training to align with guidance on maintaining effective compliance programs
