Nesko practices in the firm’s healthcare department and focuses on a variety of regulatory, compliance, and corporate matters within the healthcare and life sciences industries. Nesko advises clients on transactional matters including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures as well as corporate governance, licensure, and formation issues. His clients include dental practices, dialysis centers, ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals, and physician groups.
Prior to joining the firm, Nesko worked for a regional health system, where he gained valuable experience in matters concerning the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and state fraud and abuse laws, as well as an in-house perspective of a large scale corporate merger restructuring project. During law school, Nesko clerked at the Illinois Attorney General’s office, where he assisted in prosecutions of complex financial, tax and revenue crimes. These experiences enable Nesko to assist his clients in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and managing their business transactions efficiently and effectively.
In law school, Nesko was a fellow in the Jaharis Health Law Institute, and a staff writer for both DePaul Journal of Health Care Law and Jaharis Health Law Institute E-Pulse. He also represented DePaul at Williem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot, in Vienna, Austria. Nesko earned a Business Law Certificate and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Health Policy and the Law, Transactional Drafting, Legal Profession, Trial Advocacy, and Foreign Investment, Trade and Business Transactions in Cuba, at the University of Havana, Cuba.
My experience in both transactional and litigation practice of law provides me with a comprehensive perspective when guiding clients in structuring health care transactions within the complex regulatory and business environment.
