Siobhan K. Ray Associate

Siobhan's practice focuses on commercial and securities litigation matters. She has a bachelor of science in architectural studies and represents clients in matters involving a variety of claims, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary obligations, warranty disputes, products liability, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, fraudulent inducement, and tortious interference.

She has experience in all phases of commercial litigation, including preliminary injunctive relief, interlocutory appeals, fact and expert discovery, witness preparation, discovery and dispositive motion practice, hearing preparation, and trial and post-trial proceedings. She regularly counsels clients on issues arising out of business transactions.

Before joining McGuireWoods, Siobhan was an associate handling complex commercial and business litigation matters in the Dallas and Houston offices of a large, international law firm. Prior to entering private practice, she worked for State Representative Todd Hunter of Corpus Christi and interned for Federal District Judge Andrew S. Hanen in the Southern District of Texas. Additionally, Siobhan clerked for Judge Jaclanel M. McFarland of the 133rd District Court in Houston during law school.

Also during her tenure at Baylor Law School, she coordinated the school’s first pro bono immigration clinic and was an active member of the pro bono litigation team, through which she counseled individuals in disputes ranging from wrongful foreclosures to DTPA actions.

Experience

Represented manufacturing client and obtained summary judgments on Chapter 95 premises liability claims in Texas state and federal courts.

Obtained temporary injunction in Texas state court for client in partnership dispute.

Won summary judgment and temporary injunction recognizing real estate developer’s easement rights and successfully defended injunction on appeal in Texas state court.
