Wendy’s transactional practice focuses on the representation of mortgage servicers, banks and trustees in connection with all facets of their business including acquisition and sale of whole loans and servicing rights, RMBS and CMBS securitization transactions, warehouse lending/repurchase facilities, corporate trustee and servicing practices, contract disputes and settlement of repurchase and other claims and disputes. She also has experience with matters related to syndicated lending transactions and distressed debt trading.

In addition, Wendy provides internal legal support to the global custody and agency services line of business for a major financial institution with respect to contract negotiation and a variety of issues relating to the administration of corporate trust, paying agent, custody and escrow products.

Wendy volunteers through Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont to help individuals clear their records of charges that have been dismissed in order to help them secure gainful employment.


  • Representation of senior secured lenders in documenting, negotiating and closing numerous warehouse lending and repurchase arrangements to a variety of residential mortgage loan originators.
  • Counsel to numerous investment banks, commercial banks and mortgage companies in various purchases and sales of residential mortgage loan portfolios in the secondary market.
  • Representation of global custody, agency, issuing and paying agent and depositary line of business at a major financial institution.
  • Representation of securitization trust administration┬ábusiness as internal counsel for a major financial institution with respect to a variety of transaction, bankruptcy, litigation and other issues, including the transition following sale of that business, during the financial crisis.
  • Representation of major financial institution in the settlement of hundreds of millions of dollars of incoming and outgoing repurchase demands related to defaulted residential mortgage loans.
  • Counsel to major financial institution regarding implementation of a correspondent lending program including drafting a complete Correspondent Lending Guide.
  • During law school, served as a law clerk to the Honorable I. Beverly Lake of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
