Ruben M. Veliz Counsel

Ruben concentrates his practice in structuring, negotiating, documenting, closing and administrating syndicated credit facilities.

He has experience representing financial institutions in complex syndicated credit financings, including multicurrency and cross-border financings, first lien and second lien financings, asset based transactions, and acquisition financings by private equity groups. He has served as counsel to the administrative agent and lead arranger in syndicated credit facilities for companies in a wide variety of industry sectors, including consumer and retail, media and telecommunications, technology, manufacturing, industrial and energy and power. His experience covers several market sectors, ranging from investment grade to leverage to middle market.

Ruben served as in-house legal counsel on the broker-dealer trading desk of a major financial institution supporting distressed/high-yield asset trading matters and supervising regulatory compliance.

Representation of the lead arranger and administrative agent in $1,025,000,000 syndicated loan facility for television broadcast company serving 30 US markets.

Representation of the lead arranger and administrative agent in $3 billion senior secured multicurrency and institutional term loan credit facility for national processor and distributor of dairy products and specialty foods.

Representation of the administrative agent in $125 million credit facility for NFL franchise.

Representation of a broker-dealer in purchase and sale of more than $1 billion of the syndicated facilities of provider of transportation and global logistics services.

Representation of a broker-dealer in purchase and sale of more than $400 million of syndicated facilities of hotel, casino, and resort spa.
