Defense of one of the world’s leading, international commodities trading and logistics companies in a suit which claimed our client breached a partnership agreement pertaining to supplying petroleum products. We moved to dismiss the action and it was granted by the court based on the ground of improper venue. This matter is currently on appeal.

Representation of Houlihan Lokey as financial advisor to Yates Petroleum in its $2.5 billion sale to EOG Resources.
Served as local counsel for Plantation Pipe Line Co. in an appeals case with the Texas Supreme Court. The Court refused to hear an appeal of a lower-court ruling which held that Plantation Pipe Line Co. did not forfeit coverage under an excess insurance policy when it settled claims with primary insurers over a 1975 oil leak in North Carolina. The high court’s refusal to take the case upholds Plantation’s 2014 victory in the Court of Appeals for the 11th District of Texas, a decision which bucked a national trend favoring insurance carriers on this issue.
Our client sued for monies owed on diesel fuel deliveries in the Southern District of New York (White Plains). After extensive briefing and discovery, our client was awarded the full amount of its claim, and defendant’s counterclaims were dismissed without prejudice.
