November 22, 2021

McGuireWoods partners Christina Egan and Amy Manning have been named to Crain’s 2021 Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law. Published by Crain’s Chicago Business, the feature honors professionals who effect change in their roles and practice areas, serve as role models or mentors, promote inclusive workplace practices, and assume leadership positions with professional organizations and in the community.

“As managing partner of the Chicago office, I am pleased that Crain’s has included Amy and me on its list of Gen X leaders, recognizing our contributions to the profession, to women’s issues and to the greater Chicago community,” Egan said.

“I am honored to be included on this list with Christina and so many other leading Chicago professionals,” added Manning, who preceded Egan as managing partner of the Chicago office.

Egan is a trial lawyer with the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department and a member of the board of partners. Prior to joining McGuireWoods, she was an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois for 10 years, the last four as a deputy chief. She taught RICO law and trial advocacy to Northwestern Pritzker School of Law students and sat on the school’s clinic advisory board. Egan serves on the 7th Circuit Pattern Jury Instruction Committee, which is responsible for revising and updating criminal pattern jury instructions.

Manning chairs the firm’s Antitrust, Trade & Commercial Litigation Department. She represents international and U.S. companies and individuals in federal and state courts and U.S. arbitration tribunals. She co-founded the Chicago Women Antitrust Lawyers Network — the first professional networking group for women antitrust lawyers in the Chicago area. Manning chairs the ABA Antitrust Section Diversity Long Range Planning Committee. She has served twice as chair of the American Diabetes Association Chicago board and is a current board member. She also sits on the Chicago Bar Foundation board.
