McGuireWoods’ Lisa Ormand Taylor to Join Treace Medical Concepts

November 30, 2020

Lisa Ormand Taylor, partner in McGuireWoods’ Securities and Capital Markets Department in Jacksonville, will join client Treace Medical Concepts, a fast-growing medical device company, as assistant general counsel on Dec. 1. Her responsibilities will include contracts and contract management, securities and corporate governance, privacy and healthcare compliance, employment, restrictive covenant compliance, intellectual property and corporate policies.

“It has been a pleasure to work with so many smart, diligent and energetic colleagues thinking deeply about clients’ issues and how to solve them,” Taylor said. “Since starting with McGuireWoods’ predecessor Jacksonville firm in 1991 right out of law school, I have been lucky enough to rejoin the firm several times after stints in-house with clients. I am so grateful to the firm for giving me the opportunity to be part of the team. I am continually impressed by my colleagues here and look forward to continuing to seek advice from them as a client.”

Lisa’s experience includes more than 29 years representing publicly traded and private companies, as both outside and in-house counsel handling securities, corporate governance and contractual matters. She is a leader in Jacksonville’s corporate legal community, spearheading the development of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s North Florida chapter in 2009 and serving as its first president.

“For the past three years, Lisa has been an invaluable part of the Treace Medical legal team. While we are sad to see her go, we are delighted that we will continue to have the opportunity to work with her as part of the Treace in-house team,” said Charlotte partner Greg Kilpatrick, who leads McGuireWoods’ Securities and Capital Markets Department.
