Rich focuses his practice on financial services litigation, product liability matters, and insurance coverage disputes. Rich has argued hundreds of motions while representing national banks in state and federal courts.
As part of his focus on product liability matters, Rich has represented manufacturers in a variety of commercial disputes. In his capacity as a member of the firm’s Insurance Recovery team, Rich is frequently called upon to interpret complex insurance policies and litigate insurance coverage disputes for policyholders.
While serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Richard Voorhees of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, Rich worked on a variety of civil cases, antitrust matters, employment litigation, commercial disputes, and criminal cases. Rich also maintains an active pro bono practice, including serving as a Guardian ad Litem as part of his work with the Council for Children’s Rights and representing clients in landlord-tenant disputes. Rich has also been appointed in matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
At Wake Forest University School of Law, Rich graduated first in his class, earned a faculty scholarship, served as research assistant to Dean Blake Morant, and was a member of the Wake Forest national moot court team.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Rich was the assistant director at Lipscomb University for Conflict Management and an associate at Strategic Resolutions Group.
