Join McGuireWoods and FTI Consulting for the first in a three-part series of fun, immersive and interactive cybersecurity incident response simulations impacting critical infrastructure industries.

  • Part One: Triage, forensics, insurance, communications, legal/privilege
  • Part Two: Incident, management, compliance/notification, law enforcement, regulatory/litigation, employees
  • Part Three: Lessons learned, post-incident remediation/analysis, pre-incident planning, policy adjustments/audits, training

This is not your run-of-the-mill cybersecurity lecture; it will be a multidisciplinary, interactive series through which you will experience and learn to resolve the plethora of complex legal and forensic issues created by cybersecurity attacks in this technological day and age.

You’ll learn best practices for successfully managing a complex and multifaceted breach incident through all stages. We will cover planning, crisis management, communications practices, forensic strategies, interaction with law enforcement, regulators and insurers, board of directors management, ESG issues, bankruptcy/restructuring issues, the dos and don’ts of negotiating with cybercriminals, post-incident remediation, and more. All presented in an engaging and entertaining manner, guaranteed to distract you from checking email during the session.

A panel of McGuireWoods attorneys with specialized experience, together with cybersecurity experts from FTI with real-world cyber-incident response and agency investigation experience, will lead the audience through a fictional cybersecurity attack. Throughout the session, our audience will be encouraged to react to the fictional attack and provide their input.

Cyberattacks are an ever-present risk of doing business and are particularly concerning when it comes to critical infrastructure, given the far-reaching impact of those industries. Our interactive sessions will show attendees what the inside of a cyberattack looks like, the range of issues involved and, crucially, steps to avoid making the consequences even worse.
