Glen v. MetLife and ERISA Issues

Partner Jay McElligott spoke at the mid-winter meeting of the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law, Employee Benefits Committee in New Orleans, La., Feb. 28, 2008. He and a panel of speakers discussed the U.S. Supreme Court’s upcoming argument in Glen v. MetLife, which will consider the standard of review applicable when a court reviews a fiduciary’s denial of an ERISA benefit claim and the effect of a fiduciary’s conflict of interest. He is the management chair of the Subcommittee on Individual Benefit Claims.
