June 13, 2011

Carolyn Trenda served as a panelist for two sessions at the International Pension & Employee Benefits Lawyers Association (IPEBLA) 13th Annual International Conference in Berlin, Germany on May 22-25, 2011. At a session entitled “Employees on the Move: Providing Pensions for Internationally Mobile Employees,” Trenda addressed legal and regulatory issues that arise when employees transfer employment between different jurisdictions, including treatment of pension benefits, tax treaty issues, cross-border contributions, and taxation of benefits. She also spoke on “Healthcare Benefits,” which addressed the provision of healthcare in different jurisdictions, and the risks and advantages of payment of healthcare by government, individuals, and employers.

The IPEBLA International Conference is an opportunity for common and civil law lawyers from different countries to discuss current domestic and international issues affecting their practice and pension, executive compensation and related employee benefits fields.
