Senior Office Administrator

Through mergers and client-driven growth, McGuireWoods LLP has enjoyed a Charlotte presence since 1922. In addition to being ranked the second largest law firm in Charlotte, we have been recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the Charlotte region by the Charlotte Business Journal. Charlotte has become a major U.S. financial center and is now the second largest banking center in the United States (after New York).

We opened our first North Carolina office in January 1998, after joining forces with the North Carolina law firm Blakeney & Alexander. The addition of the firm Fennebresque, Clark, Swindell & Hay in 1999 transformed our firm into one of the Queen City’s largest firms. Our 2008 merger with Helms Mulliss & Wicker, PLLC, significantly expanded our capabilities in the region.

Lawyers in our Charlotte office have extensive experience handling client matters in a range of sectors — banking and finance, labor and employment, commercial litigation, corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and insolvency, commercial real estate, government, regulatory and criminal investigations, energy, employee benefits, higher education, electronic discovery and healthcare.

Our highlighted strengths include:

  • Debt Finance: Ranked 1st nationally in number of syndicated debt finance transactions.
  • Electronic Discovery: We maintain two offsite e-discovery facilities, one in Charlotte and one in Richmond, which can house up to 140 reviewers at a time.
  • Government Investigations and White Collar Litigation: We draw on the unique experience of our former prosecutors and regulators from numerous government agencies.
  • Largest litigation practice in Charlotte

Committed to McGuireWoods’ core value of service to our clients and the community, the lawyers and staff of the Charlotte office give back enthusiastically as a top contributor to the Access to Justice Campaign for Legal Services of Southern Piedmont, the annual Arts & Science Council Campaign, and the United Way of Central Carolinas. The Charlotte office has received many awards in recognition of our pro bono work and generous contributions — one of the most high-profile of which is the “United Way Spirit of North Carolina Award” for campaign excellence.
