March 5, 2018

The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) featured comments by McGuireWoods Richmond partner Candace Ali Blydenburgh in its March 1 Committee Chair Corner newsletter.

Blydenburgh serves as chair of the association’s Environmental and Energy Law Committee, which is composed of in-house and outside counsel who bring together experience in energy and environmental litigation and regulatory compliance on the state, federal and international levels.

In the article, Blydenburgh highlights the committee’s focus on climate change litigation and environmental disaster response. She also notes that the committee will examine new case law, state and federal environmental statutes, regulatory rulings, and municipal ordinances that affect the energy and environmental sector.

Blydenburgh serves as national and local counsel to manufacturers and other companies in nuisance cases, environmental and toxic tort litigation, and matters involving negligence, product liability, warranty and punitive damage actions. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Virginia State Bar Diversity Conference, chairs McGuireWoods’ African American Legal Network, and teaches insurance law at the University of Richmond School of Law.
