National legal media covered the arrival at McGuireWoods of Benjamin Hsing, Wanda French-Brown and Irene Hudson, all highly regarded life sciences intellectual property litigators.

In separate Jan. 11 articles, leading legal publications The American Lawyer and Law360 took note of their move to McGuireWoods’ New York office from BakerHostetler.

All three said that McGuireWoods’ demonstrated strength as a patent litigation and trial firm — particularly its record in the life sciences and healthcare sector — provided the ideal platform for their practices to grow and expand.

“We saw a good mix between our established practice and the clients here at McGuireWoods,” Hudson said.

The decision to join McGuireWoods went beyond business considerations. The trio said the firm’s inclusive and welcoming culture and its commitment to diversity and inclusion were significant factors in joining the firm. French-Brown said McGuireWoods “walks the walk” when it comes to diversity.

“That was really key for us — coming to a firm where it’s an environment that benefits all kinds of diverse attorneys,” she told The American Lawyer.
