Shahnavaz advises on tax matters related to domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, business formations, divestitures, joint ventures, and real estate and partnership transactions, as well as federal and state income tax planning. His clients include strategic and other corporate buyers and sellers, private equity firms and family offices in diverse industries such as biotechnology, manufacturing, information technology, retail, media entertainment and real estate.
Shahnavaz told Law360 that joining McGuireWoods’ tax practice provided a unique opportunity in that it “allows me to combine the skill sets learned and obtained from [previous] positions in one place to service, internally, our corporate and capital markets teams and, externally, our clients in the private equity space, strategic corporate buyers, family offices, domestic deals, cross-border deals.”
