McGuireWoods Provides ProBono Services to South Side Chicago Non-Profit in Real Estate Purchase

October 10, 2008

Attorneys in the Chicago office of McGuireWoods LLP recently represented Community Service Options (“CSO”), a local non-profit organization dedicated to serving disabled individuals, in its purchase of an office building on Chicago’s South side.

The acquisition will allow CSO to relocate and improve its operations, stop paying rent, and realize additional income by renting a portion of its new space to other non-profit groups.

McGuireWoods Partner Patrick Brady and Associate Andrew Ryerson handled this matter for the firm. As part of his representation Ryerson successfully negotiated the termination of CSO’s existing lease, which resulted in a significant savings to CSO. Ryerson and CSO are currently petitioning Cook County in an effort to obtain tax exempt status for CSO’s new property.
