Finkbeiner Appointed to Governor-elect McDonnell’s Cabinet

Eric Finkbeiner, a senior vice president and director of Virginia Government Relations at McGuireWoods Consulting and a partner in the McGuireWoods law firm, was recently named Senior Advisor for Policy, a cabinet-level position, in the administration of Virginia Governor-elect Bob McDonnell.

Finkbeiner served in the administrations of former Virginia Governors George Allen and Douglas Wilder. He served as policy advisor to Governor Allen on public safety and transportation issues and also served as his Executive Director for the Governor’s Commission on Parole Abolition and Sentencing Reform. In the Wilder administration, he served as the Director of Public Affairs for the Department of Criminal Justice Services, then as Communications Director for the Governor’s Task Force on Violent Crime.

He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he received a B.S. degree in Mass Communications. Finkbeiner earned his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.
