E. Duncan Getchell Jr., a partner with McGuireWoods LLP and chair of the firm’s appellate group, was named today as the next Solicitor General for the Commonwealth of Virginia by Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli. The announcement was made in Richmond. Getchell will assume his new role on Jan. 16, 2010.
