As a part of National Rebuilding Day, a McGuireWoods team joined other groups partnering with Rebuilding Together of Richmond to make basic renovations/improvements to 43 homes in the Bellmeade and Oak Grove neighborhoods on April 24, 2010. Repairs included painting; heating/cooling work; roof, window, handrail and porch repairs; lighting improvements; and removing trip and fall hazards.
Rebuilding Together is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization working to preserve homeownership and neighborhoods by providing free rehabilitation/repair services to more than 9,000 homes annually. It has grown to include approximately 200 affiliates nationwide since its 1988 founding. It also rehabs community centers, and conducts home modifications and repair programs focused on elder home safety, energy efficiency, veterans housing, and disaster recovery and reconstruction.
