U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers have released the 2010 Best Law Firms rankings and McGuireWoods LLP has achieved several top tier state rankings throughout the firm’s domestic offices. The firm was also ranked nationally in several categories, including employment, labor, tax, bankruptcy and corporate law. The findings, which were released Wednesday, will be published in the October print issue of U.S.News & World Report and will go on sale September 27.
Every domestic office in McGuireWoods was recognized in at least several categories in the Best Lawyers inaugural survey, which conducted research on more than 8,700 law firms across 81 practice areas. A complete list of those firm’s recognized can be found at www.usnews.com/bestlawfirms.
As part of the survey, large clients and leading lawyers were asked to rate the law firms they consider best in their practice area. In the end, 9,514 clients – including every Fortune 100 company and 587 of the Fortune 1000 companies – provided 194,370 firm practice-area evaluations; 6,190 clients provided 11,181 comments about law firm practice areas and individual lawyers; and 8,842 lawyers provided 594,012 firm practice-area evaluations. McGuireWoods’ ratings continue a trend of positive feedback for the firm, which recently had more than 60 of its attorneys recognized in another legal research publication, Chambers USA.
