McGuireWoods LLP has been recognized in Equality Illinois’ annual Raising the Bar report for the second year in a row as one of the top law firms in the state with a growing commitment to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and inclusiveness in the workplace.
The report, which stems from Equality Illinois’ annual survey of the 150 largest firms doing business in the state of Illinois, measures workplace equality in three categories: employment benefits, workplace diversity initiatives, and community relations.
The selected law firms were honored on July 26 at the annual Lawyers for Diversity reception. Guest speakers included Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis, the AIDS Legal Council of Chicago, the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago (LAGBAC) Foundation, and Parents, Friends and Family of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) Northern Illinois Council.
