McGuireWoods Announces New Water Industry Team

July 5, 2013

McGuireWoods LLP and McGuireWoods Consulting, LLC announced today that they have created a new joint industry team that will focus specifically on clients with needs in the water industry. The team, which will feature approximately 50 attorneys and government affairs consultants, will concentrate on representing clients that manage storm water and wastewater, operate or invest in water infrastructure and advanced technologies, or utilize water in the daily operation of the business.

The team seeks to enhance a dedicated focus on water-related issues and target representation of municipalities, multinationals, asset managers, small companies and trade associations on permitting, environmental regulation and compliance, sustainable development, water risk management, and the nexus between water and energy. It will leverage our public and private sector water experience to bring focus to innovative project and infrastructure financings, public-private partnerships and advanced technology investments domestically and internationally.

“As we look at the evolving market, water risks are increasingly enterprise level concerns for our clients,” said Cameron Prell, co-chair of the group. “The issues of water utilization and management, resilient infrastructure development, and the need for innovative public-private financing partnerships all present challenges and opportunities that require integrated full service legal solutions. The MW/MWC Water Industry Team combines our broad water and wastewater industry experience with our corporate, finance and strategic policy advisors to help our clients surmount myriad regulatory hurdles and get out ahead of the challenges that lie ahead.”
