McGuireWoods is ranked No. 8 in the 2014 ranking of Top 23 Law Firms for superior client relationships by the respected BTI Consulting Group.
The ranking is based on interviews BTI conducts with more than 500 leading corporate counsel – the most sophisticated buyers of legal services. They come from Global 500, Fortune 1000 and companies spanning more than 15 industry sectors with average revenue of $16.1 billion.
McGuireWoods was ranked within the Power Elite, the highest of seven categories in which BTI measures client relationships through the eyes of clients and publishes its findings in its scorecard each year.
Client corporations are asked which firms are primary counsel, which firms are secondary, and which have “go-to” status. They are asked whether a firm is recommended first above other law firms and how often a firm is recommended to others without being prompted to do so.
Firms that receive the BTI Power Elite standing are those consistently rated as being both the leading primary firm and the first firm recommended by clients in an unprompted manner by clients.
The industry sectors where McGuireWoods ranked highest were banking and wholesale trade. The firm also ranked highly in the utilities, provisional services, manufacturing, high tech, healthcare, consumer goods and chemicals sectors.
