McGuireWoods Named Top Three Firm for Collaborative Approach to Client Service

August 15, 2017

Top legal decision makers from major corporations chose McGuireWoods as one of only three law firms that stand apart from all others for their collaborative approach to client service, according to a new report from the BTI Consulting Group.

The report, “BTI’s Law Firms With the Best Collaboration,” is based on unprompted feedback from senior corporate counsel across industries. The findings underscore the importance of cross-practice collaboration in recognizing clients’ needs and delivering the best service to achieve their business and legal goals.

“Clients say collaborative law firms show deep understanding of client needs across the team, are up to speed on all the issues whenever an attorney joins the team, and are all focused on the same overriding objective,” the report states.

Corporate clients have praised McGuireWoods for its collaborative, cross-practice industry teams that bring the highest level of skill and service to each client matter. BTI recently identified McGuireWoods as one of just five law firms with the strongest client relationships in its Industry Power Rankings, which noted that firms with successful industry groups enjoy access to the most complex client work.

Clients are reluctant to give more than one or two matters to firms that don’t collaborate on an ongoing basis, according to BTI. But the top performing firms — those setting the standard for superior client service — earn more business and keep competitors away from their client base, the BTI report concludes.

“Our lawyers are dedicated to working together across practices to deliver excellent service to our clients and to provide them with the business-minded solutions they need,” said Tom Cabaniss, McGuireWoods’ managing partner. “It is gratifying to know our clients appreciate our collaborative efforts.”
