McGuireWoods Raleigh Associate Chris McEachran to Join Oracle

Chris McEachran, an associate in McGuireWoods’ Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department in Raleigh, will join Oracle Corp. as corporate counsel. His last day at McGuireWoods is March 6, 2020.

In his new role with Oracle’s commercial legal department, McEachran will support sales of the company’s cloud network and database products, handling relevant deals and transactions, contracts and risk assessments. Oracle is a multinational computer technology corporation headquartered in Redwood City, California.

“While I will miss my friends at McGuireWoods, I am excited about this new opportunity to join Oracle. I cannot put into words how much I have learned from my mentors at McGuireWoods,” McEachran said. “This firm has taught me how to be a lawyer and instilled in me a standard of excellence I will carry with me throughout my career.”

McEachran was a summer associate with McGuireWoods in 2011. Following graduation from UNC Law, he was a law clerk with the Senior Judge Panel of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. In 2013, McEachran joined McGuireWoods as an associate in the firm’s D.C. office, then transferred to Raleigh in 2017.

As part of McGuireWoods’ government investigations and white collar litigation team, McEachran has represented individual and corporate clients nationwide in investigations by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the U.S. Department of Justice. He also has defended clients in complex commercial litigation and energy enforcement matters, and assisted pro bono clients in labor trafficking and immigration matters. McEachran was an editor of McGuireWoods’ Subject to Inquiry blog, and he co-led the development of the firm’s FERC Enforcement Reporter.
