The Daily Record Honors Heather Arbogast With Maryland Generation J.D. Award

May 13, 2021

McGuireWoods Baltimore partner Heather Arbogast has been recognized as a 2021 Generation J.D. honoree as part of The Daily Record’s Leadership in Law Awards.

The award recognizes up-and-coming Maryland lawyers for outstanding dedication to their profession and communities. The winners, selected by an outside panel of legal and business leaders, will be celebrated during a June 17 online awards event.

Arbogast advises energy clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, renewable project development, power purchase agreements, build transfer agreements, regulatory compliance and solar, wind, battery and distributed generation projects. She has distinguished herself in the Baltimore community for professional excellence and outstanding pro bono and volunteer service, including work for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, the Enoch Pratt Free Library and a Labrador retriever rescue nonprofit.

“Giving back is a key part of my philosophy,” said Arbogast. “I am honored to be recognized as a Generation J.D. honoree and proud to contribute to the Baltimore community.”

Arbogast is McGuireWoods’ Baltimore pro bono partner and coordinates the many initiatives and pro bono matters handled by lawyers in her office. Her own pro bono work includes providing assistance writing wills, advance directives and other documents at an elder law clinic, and assisting Charm City Craft Mafia, a group supporting local crafters. She is an alumni of the Greater Baltimore Committee Leadership Program, a rigorous nine-month program designed to engage, develop and mobilize more effective civic leaders in the Baltimore region.

“At McGuireWoods, we are committed to providing outstanding service to our clients and communities,” said Baltimore office managing partner Cecil Martin III. “Heather exemplifies this commitment, personally and professionally, and we congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition.”
