After more than 30 years at McGuireWoods, Richmond partner Rod Satterwhite will join Hilb Group — one of the top insurance brokers in the country — as its General Counsel. His last day at McGuireWoods is December 30, 2022.
Satterwhite started his McGuireWoods career as a summer associate in 1990 and joined the firm as an associate the following year. At McGuireWoods, he maintained a national practice protecting and pursuing clients’ interests in high-stakes intellectual property, employee mobility and employment litigation, largely focused on executive-level disputes.
“I’ve spent my entire legal career at McGuireWoods, and everything I learned about being a lawyer I owe to my amazing friends and colleagues at the firm,” Satterwhite said.
“Leaving McGuireWoods was a difficult decision, but I’m happy that I will be able to continue to work with the firm as a client. At the same time, I’ll be able to continue to work with the team at Hilb Group, who I’ve come to know and respect in representing them for years. I am excited about the opportunity to help continue to grow such an outstanding company,” he added.
