McGuireWoods Charlotte associate John L. Bishop will join healthcare improvement company Premier Inc. as senior corporate counsel for employment. Bishop’s last day at McGuireWoods is Jan. 5, 2024.
Bishop, a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Department, joined McGuireWoods in 2018. He defends employers in lawsuits involving federal and state laws and regulations, including Title VII, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
In his new position, Bishop will provide legal guidance, advice and support to Premier’s human resources group. He also will serve as Premier’s primary legal resource for employment, overseeing benefit management, litigation support, policy management, M&A support, HR compliance and other areas.
