Lisa is a partner in the Public & Private Infrastructure & Real Estate Department in the McGuireWoods Los Angeles office. She is the co-lead of the Real Estate Transactions Practice Group. Her practice focuses on real estate transactions and related areas.

She counsels purchasers, sellers, landlords and tenants on issues associated with real estate acquisitions, dispositions and commercial leasing transactions. Her practice involves guiding and advising clients through structuring of deal terms and letters of intent, drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, sale and leaseback, EV charging station leases, office and warehouse leases, due diligence investigation and resolution of title, survey and zoning matters and property management issues.

Lisa has special experience addressing the real estate needs of corporate clients holding substantial real estate assets. She has represented a communications company for over 20 years in the negotiation and completion of hundreds of leases, license agreements, SNDAs, easements, fiber and master right of way agreements with municipalities and public utility companies to achieve various versions of evolution upgrades in response to fast changing technological and consumer demands. Lisa also represents multi-national and national automotive industry clients in the acquisition and disposition of real property and dealer facilities, office and warehouse leases and amendments, EV charging station leases, preparation of restrictive covenants and providing counsel on property management issues arising at various owned and leased locations. In addition, she provides legal representation in the self-storage industry in connection with portfolio and single asset purchase and sale transactions.

Lisa is the local chair of the McGuireWoods Women Lawyers Network in Los Angeles and also serves as the Associate Liaison for the real estate associates in the firm’s Public & Private Infrastructure & Real Estate Department. She is the co-chair of the National Association of Women Lawyers Women in Real Estate Law affinity group.

Experience

  • Representation of the largest self-storage company in the United States in a 49 property portfolio acquisition valued at $1.8 billion for an additional 4.2 million square feet of rentable space.
  • Represent global communications company in negotiation and closing of hundreds of lease and license transactions with hotels, stadiums and state and local governments in preparation for Super Bowl 50, resulting in a network build out in multiple cities and counties in and around San Francisco sufficient to provide seamless coverage and capacity before and during major national event.
  • Representation of power production company in the transfer of power generation facilities worth approximately $250 million in connection with a corporate restructuring.
  • As counsel to automotive companies, assist in acquisition and disposition of real property assets for future use as automobile dealerships, negotiation of warehouse, industrial and office leases, creation of forms of EV charging station leases for electric vehicle auto company client, drafting of restrictive covenants and providing guidance on property management issues arising at various owned and leased locations.
  • Implement systems and procedures for completion of hundreds of telecommunications leases over a 20-year period for national communications carrier to expand and strengthen coverage and capacity of its nationwide network and implement its long-term evolution upgrades in response to rapidly evolving technological advances and consumer demands.
  • Prepare, negotiate and close various real estate contracts for easements, fiber and master right of way agreements with municipalities and public utility companies, road construction and maintenance, property development, restrictive covenants, relocation and construction staging.
  • Representation of a Fortune 150 company in connection with the acquisition of a multi-billion dollar oil and gas refinery and distribution system.
