As chief operating officer, Rich leads McGuireWoods’ operational departments — including finance, human resources, information technology and marketing — and assists senior management in developing and implementing the firm’s strategic business priorities.
Rich has more than two decades of executive experience in global professional services firms. Before joining McGuireWoods in 2019, he was a managing director with Navigant in New York City, which provides specialized consulting, outsourcing and technology services primarily to clients in the healthcare, energy and financial services industries. Rich oversaw operational and strategic initiatives at Navigant and chaired its Diversity & Inclusion Council.
Prior to Navigant, Rich spent 10 years in senior executive positions at the global business advisory firm FTI Consulting, where he led strategic planning and co-led several global cross-practice financial services and industry initiatives, among other strategic and operational responsibilities.
Rich previously worked at PwC, providing strategy consulting services to Fortune 500 and middle-market accounts. He managed project teams of consultants and client staff members and handled client engagements involving merger integration, new product launches, client segmentation analysis, portfolio reviews, capital structure analyses and due-diligence reviews.
Rich earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and an MBA with concentrations in finance and strategy from Columbia Business School.
