Rafael focuses on assisting clients in a wide range of labor and employment matters. Prior to joining McGuireWoods LLP, Rafael clerked for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Sharon A. King of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Rafael earned his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. While in law school, Rafael presented oral arguments before the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of a client for the Federal Appellate Immigration Clinic. Rafael also served as the managing editor for the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class and treasurer for the Latinx Law Student Association. Rafael participated in the Latinx Law Student Association Moot Court Team reaching the semi-finals in the National LLSA Conference Competition in 2023.
