As Chief Legal Talent Officer, J.D. oversees the firm’s talent acquisition strategy focusing on the recruiting approach for partners, associates and professional staff. In addition, he has oversight of the firm’s paralegal and legal support functions.
J.D. also works closely with the firm’s Associates Committee on the evaluation, partnership and compensation processes and was instrumental in the creation of the firm’s inaugural associate mentoring program. He also assists partners and associates with HR and policy questions, and he regularly counsels management on attorney-related issues.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods in 2003, J.D. spent 18 years with an international firm in Washington, D.C., where he served in a number of roles in the attorney development and recruiting areas.
