Matt is an associate in the firm’s Richmond office. He focuses his practice on antitrust law and complex civil litigation.

Matt served as a law clerk in federal courts at both the appellate and trial levels, for the Honorable Roger L. Gregory of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Honorable Jasmine H. Yoon of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

Matt earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. While in law school, he served as notes editor for the Virginia Law Review, was a member of the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, and, along with a partner, won the William Minor Lile Moot Court Competition.

Matt is an avid student of Virginia history, which he studied as an undergraduate at the University of Virginia. While in law school, he authored the book A Time for Moderation: J. Sargeant Reynolds and Virginia’s New Democrats, which was published by the Virginia Historical Society.
