The first hour will explore ethics issues that lawyers encounter in their practices, using limericks as a fun, engaging way to learn.

- Unauthorized practice of law and multijurisdictional practice (including the definition of legal practice, temporary and virtual practice, and choice of ethics rules)
- Law practice creation (including law firm names, hiring and noncompetes)
- Law practice operation (including paralegals, trust accounts, fee sharing and file ownership)
- Marketing (including content limitations and marketing intrusiveness)
Professionalism Issues: Conflicts Between Georgia Lawyers and Their Clients (Part III)
The second hour will explore situations in which lawyers’ interests might conflict with clients’ interests.
Topics
- Duty to protect former clients
- File ownership (if the client has paid or not paid the lawyer)
- Arbitration of fee and malpractice disputes
Settlement of clients’ claims against lawyers
