The French-language Belgian newspaper La Libre Belgique (Free Belgium) grouped McGuireWoods in some elite company in an article last week about big law firms who have a strong presence in Brussels.
In a story headlined (translated) “Law Firms Resembling Multinational Companies,” the newspaper quotes Jean-Pierre Buyle, the former president of the Brussels Bar and an esteemed figure in business law, explained why Brussels has done so well in attracting a respected global firms. In doing so, the story noted a few firms “specialized in competition law.” McGuireWoods was listed alongside DLA Piper, Steptoe and Johnson, Baker & McKenzie, Freshfields, Covington & Burling and Linklaters.
