The National Law Journal, Law360, Bloomberg Law and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin were among the legal media outlets that covered the arrival of Peter Geovanes, McGuireWoods’ new chief innovation and AI officer.
Geovanes is an accomplished executive who has implemented innovative analytic and AI solutions for law firms and large corporations. At McGuireWoods, he spearheads development and implementation of innovative business solutions, including the use of AI-enhanced tools, to better serve clients and to improve firm operations. He reports directly to the firm’s managing partner, J. Tracy Walker IV.
Geovanes told the NLJ that his initial goals are to assess where McGuireWoods stands in relation to emerging technologies and work with firm leaders to create a “strategy” and policies that can be implemented internally and shared with clients.
“Having a C-level executive responsible for not only gathering these ideas but executing on these and delivering, I think is going to be the difference maker,” Geovanes said.
“[T]his really speaks volumes to the firm’s kind of commitment to taking legal tech and artificial intelligence extremely seriously,” he added. “They want to position the firm to have a leadership role across the Am Law 100 for this emerging tech.”
