Hal Kitchin Named a ‘Super Lawyers Rising Star’

January 27, 2009

Henry L. (“Hal”) Kitchin, Jr., a partner in McGuireWoods’ Wilmington office, was named one of North Carolina’s “Super Lawyers Rising Stars” for 2009 in a recent study by Law & Politics magazine. The findings are published in the February 2009 edition North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine and the Charlotte magazine.

Kitchin was recognized for his business litigation practice. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in antitrust, business tort, and breach of contract cases. He represents creditors in creditor’s rights and bankruptcy cases, and defends lenders in predatory lending and lender liability suits. He has experience in complex commercial, product liability and construction litigation.

As part of the selection process, Law & Politics magazine conducts a regional survey of lawyers who have been in practice for at least five years, asking them to nominate the best attorneys they’ve personally observed in action. In addition, the Law & Politics attorney-led research department reviews the nominees’ credentials based on a set of evaluation criteria. To ensure a diverse and well-balanced list, the research staff considers factors such as firm size, practice area and geographic location.
