McGuireWoods Partner Mark Anderson Inducted Into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers

March 27, 2015

Mark Anderson, managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Raleigh, North Carolina office and member of the firm’s Board of Partners, has been inducted into the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers.

The elite academy limits membership to 500 active trial lawyers from the United States, including prosecutors, plaintiffs’ lawyers and criminal and civil defense lawyers. He was inducted during the organization’s annual meeting March 18-21 in Santa Barbara, California.

Invitations to join the academy are reserved for those who have demonstrated excellence throughout their careers in jury trials, bench trials and appellate practice. A comprehensive screening process that includes both peer and judicial review is used to identify the most qualified candidates for induction.

Chartered in 1954, the academy endeavors to promote reforms in the law, improve the administration of justice and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.

Anderson, an accomplished trial lawyer, is also licensed in New York and practices out of the firm’s New York office, handling complex litigation matters for a broad client base that includes commercial entities and healthcare practitioners and institutions.

His achievements have earned him numerous accolades. He has been inducted into both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates and has twice been selected by Chambers USA for inclusion in its list of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. In 2012, Best Lawyers named him Raleigh “Lawyer of the Year” for Professional Malpractice Law-Defendants, an honor afforded to only one lawyer per city in each practice area.

“The International Academy of Trial Lawyers plays an indispensable role in promoting the highest standards of excellence in the legal profession,” Anderson said. “I am honored and humbled to join such a distinguished group of advocates.”
