McGuireWoods corporate partners Jeffrey Brooker and Bart Walker have been selected for The M&A Advisor’s 8th Annual Emerging Leaders Awards honoring the achievements of mergers and acquisitions, financing and turnaround professionals younger than 40.
Brooker and Walker are recognized dealmakers who advise clients nationwide in corporate transactions and on corporate governance and compliance matters. Both have made their marks in strategic markets and industries.
Brooker, based in Dallas, represents private equity funds and clients in transactions spanning a range of industries, including healthcare, financial services, software, retail, manufacturing, energy and aerospace, and he has advised on landmark multibillion-dollar and middle-market deals.
Before joining McGuireWoods, Brooker was an associate at large law firms in Boston and New York, and completed a secondment in the in-house legal department at Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Walker, based in Charlotte and part of the firm’s nationally recognized Healthcare Department, advises healthcare providers, investors and start-up companies in financings and acquisitions. He has represented numerous dental services organizations and investment firms in closing dozens of deals over the past few years, despite regulatory changes and greater state and federal restrictions.
Walker led the creation of McGuireWoods’ Southeast Healthcare Provider Conference, a 300-person, multitrack event that brings together healthcare executives, providers, lenders and investors from many healthcare industry niches. A renowned thought leader, he frequently speaks at industry events and has published dozens of articles in top healthcare and legal publications about healthcare deal activity and trends.
