McGuireWoods’ Neelam Takhar to Join Stitch Fix

March 25, 2021

McGuireWoods San Francisco associate Neelam Takhar will join e-commerce company Stitch Fix as associate counsel on April 5, 2021. In this role, she will advise on wide-ranging issues relating to new product development, data privacy, and influencer marketing, as well as negotiate commercial agreements and review creative assets for intellectual property compliance. Her last day at the firm is March 26.

Since joining McGuireWoods’ Financial Services Litigation Department in January 2019, Takhar focused her practice on counseling financial institutions and fintech companies on legal, regulatory and product development initiatives for diverse and novel products. Her experience spans commercial agreements, data privacy matters, complex business litigation, state licensing requirements, state and federal regulatory inquiries and more. During her tenure, Takhar frequently wrote about fintech and privacy topics for the firm’s Consumer FinSights and Password Protected blogs.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Takhar was in-house counsel at the largest global online lender for small businesses, publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange.

“I’m very grateful for the tremendous personal and professional growth I experienced during my time at McGuireWoods and look forward to starting this next chapter in my career,” Takhar said.

“Neelam has been a valued member of our department and we will miss her hard work and dedication on behalf of our firm. Stitch Fix is fortunate to have her on its team,” said partner Cheryl Haas, chair of McGuireWoods’ Financial Services Litigation Department.
