Andy focuses his practice on financial services litigation, where he represents lenders in mortgage related lawsuits. His litigation and trial practice includes representing and advising lending institutions on issues involving loan modifications and foreclosures.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Andy defended insurance carriers and employers in several hundred workers’ compensation matters, where he was a senior associate in a regional insurance defense law firm and a partner for another similar firm. In these capacities, Andy made numerous court appearances on behalf of clients, and handled mediations and depositions. He also practiced for 5 years as an Assistant District Attorney for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office in Charlotte, N.C., where he handled misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, including over 25 jury trials.

Andy received his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from the State University of New York at Plattsburg in 1996, and his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 2000. In law school, Andy was an associate editor for the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology, where he drafted articles with an emphasis on legal trends in the scientific community.
