Haley focuses her practice on financial services litigation. She has handled cases involving debtors’ rights, complex business reorganization and bankruptcy.
Before joining McGuireWoods, Haley worked with firms specializing in bankruptcy cases, where she oversaw all aspects of Chapter 11 filings, including preparation of schedules, creditors’ meetings, preference actions, monthly and quarterly filings, and disclosure statements and plans. She has handled all phases of litigation before state, federal district and bankruptcy courts, and has successfully appealed a Superior Court ruling to the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She also has represented clients in foreclosure hearings, mortgage modifications and debt reduction negotiations, and has assisted in state court collection actions, as well. In addition, she has advised clients regarding consumer protection laws and landlord-tenant issues.
While pursuing her law degree, Haley completed clerkships in Birmingham, Alabama, for the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and the Legal Aid Society of Birmingham.
