Charles brings a wealth of technical experience assisting and defending clients on environmental regulatory and compliance and litigation issues, including solid and hazardous waste, water, air pollution, climate change, toxic tort, and natural resource damages.

Prior to pursuing law, Charles spent five years as an environmental engineer where he specialized in air and water permitting, compliance, auditing, and modeling. This experience gave him an in-depth understanding of the technical aspects of environmental regulations as well as the practical challenges of implementing compliance programs.    

Charles also spent five years as a chemist at an oil and gas plant in Texas. During this time, he gained experience in a variety of laboratory techniques and developed a thorough understanding of chemical processes. This experience has proved invaluable in his legal career as he is able to quickly grasp scientific aspects of complex environmental, toxic tort, and natural resource damage cases.

Charles’ educational background and varied experience has equipped him with a unique perspective and skill set in providing comprehensive solutions.  

While in law school, Charles served as a legal intern at the District Court of Vermont and as a research associate for the U.S. Asia Partnership for Environmental Law.
