Experience

  • Successfully excluded expert report and won summary judgment on behalf of major financial institution against customer’s breach of contract and negligence claims.
  • Successfully represented one of the top mortgage servicers in America in a putative class action alleging that foreign statutory trusts that buy delinquent residential mortgage loans must be licensed as debt collectors under the Maryland Collection Agency Licensing Act (MCALA), and that the failure to be so licensed, was a violation of multiple federal and state consumer protection laws. We prevailed on the state law issue before the Court of Appeals of Maryland, and then subsequently prevailed in the related pending federal class actions.
