Tyler is the managing partner of the Houston office. He provides strategic counsel to clients in all aspects of intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent litigation. He also advises clients facing various Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) disputes, and advises clients on patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution and portfolio management.
Over the course of his nearly twenty-five-year career, Tyler has represented clients in numerous industries, including semiconductor and graphics processor unit (GPU) design, telecommunications, barcode scanning, oil and gas and alternative energy, biotechnology, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), pharmaceuticals and medical devices. His clients value his ability to quickly understand the aspects of their industries that make their respective matters unique.
Tyler has extensive experience navigating clients through federal court litigations and appeals, International Trade Commission (ITC) investigations, and American Arbitration Association (AAA) arbitrations. His first chair litigation experience includes bench and jury trials, ITC investigations, and binding AAA arbitrations. He has litigated extensively in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, both hotbeds for patent litigation, and has also handled appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
