Aaron represents clients in restructuring and bankruptcy matters, including out-of-court workouts, distressed transactions, and insolvency-related litigation. He builds deep relationships with clients by offering practical advice on even the most complex restructuring issues.

Aaron has led recent successful engagements on behalf of contract counterparties, secured and unsecured creditors, and various other meaningful stakeholders in high-stakes restructuring matters and disputes. His diverse practice includes representation of clients spanning across the capital structure of a distressed company, as well as receivers, trustees, and committees, in courts across the country.  Recent engagements include significant matters in commercial real estate, healthcare, insurance, transportation, and higher education. Aaron serves as national bankruptcy counsel to one of the largest managed care and health insurance companies in the U.S., and he frequently advises payors, lenders, private equity investors, and other interested parties on all aspects of healthcare restructuring. In the energy space, Aaron represents utilities, renewable project owners, financial institutions, pipelines, and commodity firms with distressed situations and insolvency issues. He regularly advises clients regarding application of the Bankruptcy Code’s “safe harbor” provisions in structuring and unwinding commodity and derivatives contracts.

Aaron has been recognized as a leading bankruptcy and restructuring attorney by various publications, including Chambers and Best Lawyers in America. He graduated Order of the Coif from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia, where he served as senior articles editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review.
