The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit is a very important appellate court which has changed significantly in the last decade. Yet, there is little media coverage of the 4th Circuit’s decisions, and it is all too easy for corporations and lawyers to miss important rulings in the 4th Circuit that may have significant consequences for how businesses operate and how cases are litigated.

McGuireWoods’ appellate practice team invites you to join a distinguished panel, which includes the former solicitor general of Virginia, a former law clerk to Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, and two former law clerks to 4th Circuit judges to discuss recent 4th Circuit decisions, their practical implications, and the current dynamics of the court.

Topics

  • An overview of the most significant recent decisions for business and the practical implications of those decisions.
  • Recent trends in the 4th Circuit’s operation and rulings that may impact the business community.
  • Commentary on the direction the court may be heading in the future.
