Partner Timothy Fry will be a faculty member at this year’s event, addressing the topic “It’s Me, AI, I’m the Problem, It’s Me: Exploring the Intersection of Healthcare, AI, and Legal Compliance.” Tim will speaking in the session on “OD-14 From the Headlines: Physician Compensation Arrangements.”
Using hypothetical compensation arrangements, Tim will test attendees’ knowledge of the Federal Physician Self-Referral Law (commonly known as the Stark Law), the Anti-Kickback Statute and applicable Illinois law (including the Health Care Worker Self-Referral Act). For each arrangement, the session will discuss relevant enforcement actions, settlements or court decisions that provides the solution. Hypotheticals will range from introductory
to intermediate structuring within the relevant exceptions or safe harbors.
