Corporate Disputes Magazine quotes McGuireWoods partner Matthew Hall in its July-September 2015 issue regarding possible violations of European antitrust laws by the multinational technology tycoon Google. In the article − titled “Illegal Dominance: Is Google Guilty of Violating European Antitrust Laws?” − Hall considers the accusation by the European Commission (EC) that Google is illegally monopolizing the digital search engine market in order to promote its own in-house shopping services.
“The EC really had nowhere else to go without losing credibility,” says Hall in quoted material. “It’s also important to note that there could be more to come as the EC is investigating Google’s alleged conduct in at least three other areas.”
